Clothing allowance

Effective December 1, 2024

If a skin medicine, prosthetic, or orthopedic device related to your service-connected disability damages your clothes, we may pay you $1,024.50 to replace the damaged clothes. This may be a one-time payment or we may pay this amount once a year.

Note: You’ll need to submit your application on or before August 1, 2025, to get a clothing allowance for this year.

Automobile allowance

Effective October 1, 2024

If you have a service-connected disability that prevents you from driving, we may pay up to $26,417.20 toward a specially equipped vehicle for you.

VA Adaptive Sports and Arts

VA’s Office of National Veterans Sports Programs and Special Events provides Veterans with opportunities for health and healing through adaptive sports and therapeutic art programs. These specialized rehabilitation events aim to optimize Veterans’ independence, community engagement, well-being, and quality of life. The programs are built on clinical expertise within VA, with essential support from Veteran Service Organizations, corporate sponsors, individual donors and community partners.

Caregiver Support Program (CSP)

The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Caregiver Support Program (CSP) offers clinical services to caregivers of eligible and covered Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system. The program’s mission is to promote the health and well-being of family caregivers who care for our Nation’s Veterans, through education, resources, support, and services. Find Your Local Caregiver Support Team located at every VA facility .
